It is winter in New York. Next Innovation’s company president Hyuga Toru (Oguri Shun) is inspecting a factory overseas in order to procure the necessary hard disk drives for the nearly completed personal file management system. He says that he wants to buy all the hard disks here, but the company’s manager thinks he is merely joking. At that moment, Next Innovation’s Yamagami Yoshiyuki (Sano Shiro) is shouting into the phone because Toru had gone on this overseas business trip without telling his employees. However, Toru nonchalantly says that he will stop by in Boston after New York since he can make it in time for the meeting if he takes a direct flight home. On the other hand, Natsui Makoto (Ishihara Satomi) who works at Estelle Pharmaceutical, is explaining clinical research data at a joint press conference on a new drug developed with a major American drug maker. She confidently finishes the presentation and immediately gets onto a taxi headed for Times Square. When she arrives at her destination, Makoto calls Toru but he does not pick up his phone. Irritated at not being able to meet despite her desire to see him soon, Makoto calls him again. She leaves a phone message asking if they are not meeting. At that moment, she hears a male voice behind her and swings around to see Toru standing there … … The two of them meet for the first time in a long while on the streets of New York … … One morning, a man buys breakfast and a newspaper at a convenience store in the business district. The name on the man’s name card is Asahina Kosuke (Iura Arata). Asahina, who has been released from prison, is working at a company which undertakes server maintenance and inspection. When he returns home after finishing the late night shift, his younger sister Yoko (Aibu Saki), who has not contacted him since he came out of prison, shows up … … One day, Makoto hurriedly returns to Japan because she has a week’s break from work. She visits Next Innovation and meets familiar faces like Yasuoka Michiya (Asari Yosuke), Ogawa Satoshi (Nakamura Yasuhi) and Tateishi Risa again. Makoto attempts to leave quickly to search for lodging while she is in Japan, but ends up staying at Toru’s house …
